My Baby Turned One!

One minute I was pregnant, the next I had a newborn, and now I have a one year old! How did that happen?! Johnie turned one in April and is just getting more fun every day! He now knows how to give kisses (more like licks though), hugs and climb on EVERYTHING! He still isn't walking, but he will get there soon. He loves to read books and play with animals.

The Newest Madison

We've added a new member to our family. Meet Terra, our 5-year-old plott hound/retriever mix! We rescued her from a local animal shelter and are so glad we did! She is the sweetest and most loving dog. She would sit in our laps if we'd let her, but she weighs 65 pounds, so it's not too comfortable! She has been great with Johnie and Fate so far, and has become their official bather (Johnie still takes baths in the tub too). She knows how to sit and shake, but we plan on getting her some additional training to help her listen a little better.

Winter in Texas

It's official -- winter in Texas is FAR better than winter in Utah. We haven't had to wear coats once this winter, and even though it's just the first part of February, we're already breaking out the shorts and sandals. That's my kind of weather! Here are a few pics from the fun things we've done this last month, particularly because of our beautiful weather. But first, here are Johnie's 8 and 9 month pictures.

Home for the Holidays

We got to go home for Christmas this past December, and it was so much fun! We spent 10 days visiting friends and family and packed a ton in. It was kind of fun vacationing to Utah because we got to do a lot of things we didn't normally do when we lived there. The trip was much needed for John to get a little time off work and we enjoyed the snow but were happy to come home to 70 degree weather! Here are some pics from our time in Utah!
