We Are Going To Be...

...HOMEOWNERS!!!

John and I have been looking at homes for a few months now, and at first it was nothing serious, but as we kept browsing, we decided we were finally ready to move on from our apartment and start a new chapter of our lives together. We looked at a couple of really gross houses, a couple that needed some TLC, and a couple that just didn't seem right. Finally, after about 10-15 houses, we finally knew we had found THE ONE!

We went home and thought about it for two weeks, and we just kept talking about this place and fantasizing about what furniture we would put where, etc., so we made a second appointment to go look at it. Well, one thing led to another, and before we knew it, we were putting in an offer! We were on pins and needles for about three days, and didn't tell anyone (except for our parents) until we heard back...and it was good news!!

I am so excited for everything we are getting with our new home. It has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. And we are going to have a garage, closets, hardwood floors, a patio and we are going to live near a lake!! It's amazing what can be exciting after you've lived in various apartments for the past 5 years...haha.

Anyway, our new home will be in South Jordan in a community called Daybreak. I am also really proud to call that our new community because recently Extreme Makeover: Home Edition did a project out there where they built the cutest family a new home in Daybreak, and the builders of our home are the same builders of their home. They seemed like awesome people with a good, honest company. I'm sure if you are reading this then you have probably already seen photos of our new home, but I thought I'd post some up anyway...

it looks like it. But once you step inside, you will feel like you are
in a regular house.

I might add. And it has drawers! I hope it fits all my clothes (I've already
told John he can have a closet in another bedroom). Haha.

the door on the far right goes down into the basement.

The kitchen! I do not like the counter tops, so we are having them
changed to granite. I haven't picked the color yet, but I'm planning
on doing a dark brown. The appliances are beautiful though!

The basement is not finished, so because of that, we have to wait to move in. We have an appointment with the design center in a couple of weeks to figure out how we want our basement designed, and then from there things should get rolling. They've told us we should be able to move in sometime in December, so we'll see if everything works out!

Viva Las Vegas!

We just got back from our final trip of the summer...but we went out with a bang! We went to Las Vegas for the long weekend and it was a blast! John, our friend Chris, and I road tripped down there and had a busy two days, but we had so much fun that it was worth it! I'll just let the photos speak for themselves like I usually do with my posts! :)

We saw tons of street performers each night there. This guy was one of the coolest.
His sign says "Stone Art" and he was so still sometimes! Very fun to watch.

I just had to put this one up...poor little John all tuckered out
after his first official trip to Las Vegas. Haha.

Besides what's posted....we also spent the night in St. George at my aunt's house, visited my Dad's memorial at Nellis AFB (I have photos of the memorial, but am debating about posting them up - if anything they deserve their own post), visited with my Dad's best friend from childhood Glen and his girlfriend Natalie, the boys went golfing, and we spent a lot of time at the pool relaxing! Other than that...What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas....haha! :)

The Boys of Fall

John started coaching high school football this year. He has done it one other time in the past, and really missed it, so this year he decided to get involved again. He coaches the freshmen team at Juan Diego High School and LOVES it! I got to go watch him in action at his first game last week -- and his team won 41-6 against Manti. I'm so glad he's found something he loves to do, and even though he's super busy with coaching, plus work and school, he is having a lot of fun. Here's some pics from the team's first game!

Oktoberfest!

Last weekend John and I decided to check out Oktoberfest up at Snowbird. It was a lot of fun. We got to see some cool performances from some German-inspired bands, etc. and enjoy the perfect weather up in the canyon!

to watch and I loved their cute German-inspired outfits.

John also entered a nail hammering contest while we were there. It's a German
game they play to see who's the strongest and fastest. John's team won! I tried to upload the
video but it won't work for some reason so maybe some other time I'll get it posted up.
